Recalculation of furlough payments due to staff.
Requirement
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the UK Government imposed restrictions on certain industries, making trading challenging or impossible for some companies. To encourage employers to retain inactive staff who would otherwise face redundancy, the Government provided ‘furlough’ payments.
This company conducted its own furlough calculations in-house, which required external verification.
Solution
A recalculation model was developed to independently determine the furlough payments due to each employee for the periods under review.
The model featured a summary output dashboard for the leadership team, displaying overall results, as well as individual summaries on a per-person basis. These individual summaries could be shared with staff to explain how each value was calculated.
